## GenAI semantic conventions

Telemeter adopts the OpenTelemetry GenAI semantic conventions (gen_ai.*) as its ingestion standard. If you emit conformant spans, they map to the canonical event with no translation layer — and they stay valid telemetry even if you never use Telemeter.
